Holy Baptism

Holy Baptism is the sacrament by which one becomes a member of the Church, the Body of Christ. Being washed with water and anointed with oil, one becomes Christ’s forever. This sacrament is entrance into the Church. Once baptized, one is a full member of the Church. One can be baptized only once in a lifetime.

In the Episcopal Church both adults and infants are baptized. Baptisms occur on days especially set aside for them and in the context of the Sunday morning Eucharist or the Easter Vigil (night before Easter Day). The Episcopal Church recognizes the baptism of other Christian traditions. Typically one does need to be baptized again when becoming a member of this Church.

Baptism requires prior preparation for the one to be baptized (if adult), or the parents and Godparents (if an infant).

If considering Baptism, please contact the rector, [email protected], well in advance.
