Ash Wednesday, February 26

Lent begins with Ash Wednesday, a day we confess our sins and wear ashes as a reminder of our mortality and need for God. From 9 am to 11 am ashes are distributed on Hope Street at the corner of Fourth Street (affectionately called “Ashes to Go.” At 7 pm is the traditional Ash Wednesday liturgy, a celebration of the Eucharist with the Imposition of Ashes. Music is led by the organ and choir.
