Saturday, October 6 at 11 am the annual Blessing of the Animals is held in the Memorial Garden. If it rains, it will be in the church. We gather on the Saturday closest to St. Francis Day (October 4) to give thanks for creation and bless our animal companions. All animals are invited and welcome along with their humans. St. Francis had a keen sense of God’s love for the entire created order and is said to have had a special relationship with animals. We ask animals have appropriate restraint or cages for their safety. Following the blessing is a bake sale benefiting Volunteer Services for Animals, complete with homemade dog treats. All humans and animals are invited and welcome.
